Follow-up to The Orchestrator

Don't open a tool.
Step into a scene.

The Orchestrator knows your business. Scenes show it. A space is where your work lives. A scene is the moment staged inside it: a late truck, a line slowing down, a dispute heading to court. You recognise the situation before you've read a word.

The evolution

From a blank chat to a place you recognise.

01 · SPACES

Pre-configured by domain

Spaces arrive arranged: a yard and routes for logistics, a floor for production, a matter room for legal. The layout tells you where things are.

02 · SCENES

The unit of work

The space is the persistent container. The scene is what's staged in it: parties, containers, documents and one clear decision. Spaces come with scenes preloaded.

03 · EXPERTISE

Judgment you can install

Every scene carries a specialist's judgment. Longshift is the empty vehicle, and the scenes are what you buy.

Mockup 1 · Spaces with scenes

Every domain has a shape.

Open Longshift and your spaces are already laid out the way the trade thinks: routes, floors, rooms, ledgers. Each space carries scenes as ready entry points, so nobody starts from an empty page.

Mockup 2 · Physical spaces, real behaviour

A truck that carries its own work.

In a physical scene, objects behave like the real thing. A truck is a self-moving container: its orders, delivery notes and ETA travel with it. When it slips past a rule, the scene acts by notifying the customer and re-slotting the dock, and asks you only when it should.

Mockup 3 · The plant as digital twin

See the line slow down before the numbers do.

A plant scene is a living twin: machines turn, goods move along the belt, and the scene tells you when something is off and what the options are. You can ask "what if" and the answer is simulated in the twin, not run in reality.

Mockup 4 · Depicted conceptual spaces

A dispute you can read at a glance.

Abstract work deserves a picture too. Instead of a folder tree, a legal matter is staged iconically: our client on the left, the counterparty on the right, the court above, evidence in containers and the deadline in the middle. Recognition comes before parsing.

Mockup 5 · Scene marketplace

Sell the judgment, not the software.

Longshift becomes the vehicle for packaged expertise. Domain scenes are the entry points, and the marketplace is where trades, firms and specialists publish theirs. It's the consulting model, delivered as a product.

Mockup 6 · Skill as consultant

The expert is in the room.

Marketplace skills already have types and icons. Creators can go one step further and give a skill a depicted presence: a consultant who stands in the scene, points at what matters and says what they would do next. It's the same skill, made visible.

Mockup 7 · Runtime split

Light by default. A full engine only where it moves.

Most scenes are arrangements of people, documents and decisions, and a lightweight canvas renderer draws them instantly. A game engine loads only where motion or physics matter, such as the truck or the plant. Creators write one scene format, and the runtime chooses the renderer.

Mockup 8 · The Orchestrator as director

Nothing just appears. Everything makes an entrance.

The Orchestrator directs the scene. It decides what should enter and when, and every entry is staged as an event. A consultant skill doesn't pop up as a panel; it knocks at the scene's door, says hi and gives one reason to be there. You let it in or say not now, and the scene keeps a quiet log of every cue.

How it fits

Space, scene, skill, Orchestrator.

1
Space: the persistent container (Logistics, Plant, Matter room).
2
Scene: a situation staged in a space, preloaded and recognisable.
3
Skill: the judgment inside a scene, now with an optional presence.
4
Orchestrator: the director. It decides which scene deserves your attention and what may enter it, and stages every entry as an event.

Consultants sell judgment by the hour.
Longshift sells it by the scene, and it never leaves.

Open questions for brainstorming
?How much depiction is too much? Where does the icon stop and a persona start?
?Revenue share and quality bar for marketplace scene creators.
?A scene format spec that both the canvas renderer and the engine can read.
?Which three domain scenes ship first?
